Overview

As a Recruiting Specialist with Choptank, you will be working from our Dallas office to actively source and hire great candidates to foster the growth of our Dallas and Denver offices. You will be attending campus and community events, working closely with hiring managers to identify needs, supporting both offices with Human Resource initiatives and processes, as well as identifying and interviewing talented candidates.

Choptank is a third party logistics company, headquartered in Maryland with regional offices in Tampa, Atlanta, Denver, and Dallas. Our continued dedication to teamwork, training, and development has fueled us to more than triple in size over the past six years and we're on track to do it again.

Responsibilities

Essential functions:

  • Source talent through community and campus events, social media and other outlets
  • Convert candidates to new team members by evaluating talent and promoting company culture and benefits
  • Work closely with hiring managers in scheduling and conducting personal interviews
  • Post ads to talent management system and push opportunities out to job boards and social media
  • Work closely with corporate marketing to produce other advertisements such as videos
  • Develop relationships with campus career services and student organizations to promote the company and connect with candidates (travel required)
  • Continually evaluate new sources for talent acquisition and company promotion within the local region
  • Serve as the on-boarding point of contact for all new hires and ensure all documentation and compliance processes are complete and correct
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees by answering questions and responding to requests
  • Assist in processing employee life-cycle events in the HRIS system such as hires, terminations, and other changes
  • Administer the employee review process and ensure employees are reviewed in a timely manner
  • Office event planning and administration of recognition programs
  • Work closely with corporate and regional office management on coaching and development opportunities

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in a recruiting, sales, or human resources role
  • Excellent phone skills including the ability to cold call candidates
  • Outgoing and personable with the ability to connect with candidates at recruiting events
  • Ethical at all times

Preferred but not required:

  • SHRM-CP
  • Prior experience with an applicant tracking system
